Implementation of the Bologna Process in M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan State University By 2020

Main parameters of the Bologna Process : Three-level system of higher education The university provides: 51 undergraduate courses and 24 postgraduate courses. By 2020 we are planning to open two undergraduate courses and one postgraduate course.

Mobility of undergraduate, postgraduate and academic staff The total number of students studied at the universities of Kazakhstan and abroad: Year 2012 - 122 undergraduate students Year 2013 - 16 undergraduate students Year 2014 - 57 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate students Foreign students studied at M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan State University : Year 2012 - 6 undergraduate students, 1 postgraduate students Year 2013 - 6 undergraduate students, 2 postgraduate students Year 2014 - 16 undergraduate students By the year 2020, 10% of undergraduate students, 100% of postgraduate students, and 25% of academic staff will be covered at WKSU within the frameworks of academic mobility.

European Diploma Supplement By 2020 – the issue of the European Diploma Supplement will be provided according to a standard format.

Quality control in the system of higher education The internal appraisal plan of the quality 2010 – successful institutional accreditation 2012 – 12 educational programs passed international accreditation 2013 – state accreditation Several educational programs passed international accreditation organized by the well-known German Accreditation Agency «ACQUIN» 2013 – WKSU ranked a 7 th place among the Top Universities of Kazakhstan. 2014, May- The University passed institutional accreditation By 2020 – 40% of specialties are planned to be accredited

Initiation of a Сommon European research area To participate in «Sharing knowledge, skill and ideas in Central Asia TOSCA-2» together with 18 universities and 6 associated members from Poland, Spain, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Austria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in accordance to the Erasmus Mundus program. Conducting scientific-researches together with foreign universities By 2020 - 4 scientific research consortium are planned to be created together with foreign universities.

Active participation of students Centre of Bologna Process works together with the following organizations: Debate Centre «Аkikat» Young economist Student Union Alliance of Kazakh Students Students’ self-management By 2020 – 100% of students are planned to be covered

Supporting low-incomed students The Students at the WKSU are supported by: Fund «Bobek» Fund «Bota» Organizations and enterprises University fund and etc. By 2020 – 75% of low-incomed students are planned to be supported

Lifelong study Tasks: Creating an environment for the development of human recourses and training of all interested Developing of education and institutional framework for the improvement of human recourses corresponding to the social and economic conditions of the region. Promote partnership with all stakeholders in the sphere of education. The use of Information and Communication Technologies for study process and the development of human capital

Harmonisation of the content of education and training Faculty parametres: Multilingual groups were opened in 2012 in: 1. 5В010900 –Mathematics– 3 groups 2. 5В011000 – Physics – 3 groups 3. 5В060200-Computer Science-2 groups 4. 5В011200-Chemistry-2 groups 5. 5В011300-Biology-1 group 6. 5В011600-Geography-1 group 7. 5В010300-Pedagogy and Psychology-1 group Developed joined cooperation with foreign universities such as Kazimierz Wielki University (Bydgoszcz, Poland), London Academy of Management and Science (London, UK0, Mississippi Valley State University (Itta Bena, USA), People`s National Friendship University (Moscow, Russian Federation). By 2020 – 20% of courses are planned to be organized according to European Standards

Modular system Formation of modular educational programs focused on the result. All courses moved into modular educational programs.

Distance education In 2012 –Educational systems «Platon» and «Мoodle» have been implemented. In 2014 – due to the limited opportunities to cover all the students, a new system «Маkhambet» replaced the old ones.

Academic ranking of students and teaching staff A questionnaire «Teachers in students’ opinion» is implemented in order to evaluate a teachers` work. By 2020 – a database containing students` and teaching staffs` ranking are planned to be created.
