3 Session Outcomes Participants will:  Develop an understanding of the Test and Quizzes application in BCPS One as related to teacher and district created assessments.  Develop an understanding of how real-time assessment results can be used by teachers drive the formative assessment process.  View a demonstration of how a Curriculum and Instruction unit assessment will be administered and scored BCPS One.  View a demonstration of accessing assessment results within BCPS One.

6 Create Formative Assessment Process Teachers have the ability to create and administer their own custom on-line assessments in BCPS One The purpose for the assessments teacher develop in BCPS One should be to provide feedback to students and to adjust their instruction When building assessments teachers can pull assessment items from the BCPS One assessment item bank – The Item Bank will include over 3,000 Common Core aligned assessment items – PARCC assessment item types 6

7 Create Formative Assessment Process Teachers can also create their own assessment items – Computer enhanced item types with computer scoring – PARCC assessment item types 7

9 Curriculum Based Unit Assessments On-line unit assessments developed by BCPS content offices All unit assessments will be aligned to the standards covered in the unit or prior units All of the individual assessment items are tagged to standards Where appropriate, unit assessments are designed to parallel the PARCC assessments 9

10 Curriculum Based Unit Assessments The assessments include a variety of question types to accurately assess student performance Most assessments are score by the computer and can be quickly transferred to the gradebook. Real-time results at the student, classroom, and school level are provided 10
