4 What is trajectory? A trajectory is the path that a moving object follows through space as a function of time. 4

5 TRAJECTORY BASED OPERATIONS  aircraft will fly a very accurate 4 dimensional trajectories (3 spatial dimensions and time).  details of the trajectory will be shared by all concerned through system wide information management and this common awareness will extend end-to-end.  the trajectory will be changed in full knowledge of the consequences and as a result the best possible decision will be made.  because of the removal of most of the uncertainty around the trajectory, it will be possible to pack many more of them into a given airspace volume and efficiency in descent and departure profile. 5

9 CONCLUSIONS The prototype of the system that has been developed in this master thesis can be used for: 1.Modeling the 4D trajectory of ACFT’s flight. 2.Increase of situational awareness of operators. 3.“Closed loop” clearances submission. 4.Providing necessary information for pilots to make a decision about bypassing obstacles. 9

10 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT  simulation of other ACFT motion;  creation of database of the ACFT`s technical specifications;  connection to the tool that will simulate work of FMS (i.e. alert when operational capabilities are about to exceed, fuel consumption);  taking into account not only time needed for the maneuver, but extra fuel that is needed, landing slot adherence, etc.; 10
