IFFCO Foundation was established as a Public Trust by IFFCO in the Year 2003 to focus as a Think Tank on issues relating to agriculture, climate change, women development, skill development, folk art and on strengthening cooperatives.

Genesis GLOBAL FORUM FOR FARMERS emerged out of India-South Asia, India-Africa and India-Latin America and Caribbean Conferences recommendations. IFFCO Foundation took initiative & FORUM has been registered under The Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860.

Why a Global Forum for Farmers ? Several factors - responsible for farmers’ plights, high food prices, food insecurity, worsening conditions for many who were already food insecure. The poorest, landless and female-headed households are the hardest hit. ‘Global Forum for Farmers’ is the most logical platform to empower the powerless and converge the veritable efforts to ‘save the farmer to save farming’. It advocates and advance farmers’ interests at national, regional and global levels

BENEFITS OF FORUM TO FARMERS Forum aims for overall Skill increase of the masses not only in the area of food production but in several other areas so as to increase income of the farmers. Forum will connect farmers with the Market and to cultivate ‘Farm Leaders’ who can act as Spokespersons. Forum will impart information, experiences, expertise, innovations, technologies, knowledge, expenditure, financial services and market etc. enabling farmers through out the world to share and make use of it. Forum focuses on agricultural trade and related issues of ‘FARMERS’ RIGHTS’, and ‘Intellectcual Property Rights’ of Indian Farmers and of developing countries.

Forum provides a platform to farmers and other stakeholders, namely Govt., industries, corporates and Civil Societies to meet and deliberate impacting issues and matters of mutual interests for benefit of farming community and the rural people. Forum may request Government(s) to frame policies for appropriate action. Forum intends to provide proven technology to farming community on crop production, horticulture, natural resource management, dairy, poultry and on fisheries developed by Research organizations. Forum will also share proven technology on climate-led- disaster experienced by the farmers, its mitigation, adaptation, also demonstrate trials of proven technologies available for climate change situations.

Forum will promote Climate smart agriculture. Forum will share ‘Innovations’ and ‘Success Stories’ on skill development. crop production, food processing, value addition & market information etc. Forum will bring in Global experiences from around the world and share to enhance efficiency not only to farmers but also to organizations/institutions in inputs, technologies, farm advisory, R&D, extension, marketing and value addition. Forum will take up training programme for mutual learning and also marketing their produce through cooperatives and farmer organizations. Forum ensures linkages and interactions between scientists, extension functionaries and innovative farmers in order to promote the proven technology, innovations and success stories.

Forum will arrange/ facilitate tours for proven farmers/ farmer organizations for getting international exposure to them and learn farmer led innovations and best practices for farming. Forum will provide database of manufacturers & suppliers of different categories of agriculture inputs & farm implements etc. Forum will promote inter- and intra-regional trade, preferential trade, help create common market infrastructure and help improve farmers income to benefit from price rises. Forum will assist in establishing Regional Forum for Farmers and National Forum for Farmers in developing countries.

Priviledges for Members of GFF Provision for all available information free of cost. Queries of the members will be answered without any charge. Member will be invited for all the events. Members can be interacted virtual or otherwise. Members may be selected for National & International tours.

Admission-cum-Subscription Fee Individual Farmer : Rs. 3,000 Farmers’ organization : Rs. 15,000 up to 31 Dec 2015; afterwards Rs 20,000 Primary Cooperatives : Rs. 3,000 Cooperative Banks : Rs. 15,000
