WHY STUDENTS CHOSE SOUTH SOUND Smaller class sizes Smaller student population and building (1 hallway) Many opportunities for credit retrieval Strong plans to allow graduation on time and/or one year late Childcare (age 1 month to 3 years) Supportive staff with more individual attention and assistance Greater student accountability

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS Come to school every day, on time, and stay all day (More than 7 absences in 12-week term = drop from SSHS) Work hard in class – EFFORT – Stay on task No cell phones or electronics (to include music) during class or passing (we confiscate until end of the school day) Positive Behavior -- in line with our Bulldog Traits Pass all classes (to stay enrolled)

SUCCESS RATE Last trimester: More than half of students passed ALL classes 23% made honor roll We will graduate 50-70 students in June

TRANSPORTATION In morning: Students ride normal bus route to River Ridge HS, North Thurston HS, or Timberline HS Then transfer to a second bus to South Sound HS Buses arrive at SSHS at 7:20-7:30am When school is out (1:40 pm): Students catch the bus at SSHS to ride to RRHS, NTHS or THS Then ride normal bus route home
