Who is Brian Hetzel? He is an educator who wanted something more. Something more for not just himself, but for his students as well. He is a visionary in the world of online education His efforts in defining collaboration in online education is his passion for teaching

Brian’s Credentials Graduated from Colorado State University with a B.A. in English with a Minor in Secondary Education Graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction Graduated from Walden University with an E.D.S. in Educational Technology

The Hetzel Online Program for Education: After teaching in a traditional classroom for almost a decade Brian realized that while he was making an impact on some students others were still out of his reach. During his E.D.S program through Walden University Brian was introduced to the benefits of online learning. Throughout his program Brian made collaboration his main focus of study.

The Hetzel Online Program for Education Continued: It was through his studies at Walden University that Brian began to visualize an online education program for struggling middle and high school students. Brian began to conceptualize an environment where students could learn freely without the constraints of a “normal” education.

The Hetzel Online Program for Education Continued: With years of research Brian was ready to bring his idea to life. And, with the support of a very understanding wife Brian began recruiting students to join his new virtual world of education. It started small, very small, only five students the first semester, but the Hetzel Online Education Program was up and running.

The Hetzel Online Program for Education Continued: Now, five years later the Hetzel Online Program for Education (HOPE) has over 600 students and is growing each year. But for many outsiders the question remains what makes this program different from all the other options for students today?
