5. The flow of energy from one organism to the next and to the next organism. Organisms in a food chain are grouped into trophic level.

15. An energy pyramid is a graphical model of energy flow in a community. In most communities, only 10-15% of the energy absorbed by a trophic level is passed on to the next.
