34 FACTOR & PRODUCT Factor- A number that is multiplied by another number to find a product. Product- The answer to a multiplication problem. 5 x 7 = 35 5 and 7 are factors. 35 is the product.

36 MULTIPLE The product of two counting numbers is called a multiple of each of those numbers. EX. The multiples of 3 is any product that has a 3 as a factor. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30…

37 Square Numbers What is a square number? How can we use multiplication to find square numbers?

38 SQUARE NUMBER The number you get when you multiply a factor (integer) by itself. Example: 4 × 4 = 16, so 16 is a square number.

39 PRIME A Prime Number can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself. And it must be a whole number greater than 1. Example: 5 can only be divided evenly by 1 or 5.

How many quarts of paint will Juan need to paint his room?
