Leave materials alone until the teacher explains how to use them!

The teacher must be in the classroom: Never work alone

Do not enter storage areas without permission.

No food, drink, or gum allowed in the classroom!

Read all directions BEFORE beginning a lab. If you do not understand a direction STOP and ask your teacher before moving on.

Keep a clean and tidy lab station and clean-up when you are finished.

Only perform approved experiments

Tell the teacher IMMEDIATELY if there is an emergency, accident or injury!

Know where to find and how to use safety equipment

Fire extinguisher in hallway o Pull pin and hold trigger o Aim towards base of the fire o You should not use if teacher is present!

Fire blanket o Stop, Drop, and Roll o Cover person with blanket to smother fire o Never wrap person if standing up!

Eye wash is on back counter o Remove yellow covers o Turn on COLD water o Pull knob & hold eyes over water

Horseplay is NEVER allowed. Don’t play around in lab!

Wear safety goggles o Safety Goggles are worn to protect your eyes o They should be worn when using chemicals, heat, or glass

Know how to use lab equipment. If something breaks, STOP and tell the teacher! o Carry equipment with both hands.

Dispose of trash properly & Never take anything from lab. o Never put anything in the sink without permission.
