As it is known, during the flowering of fruit trees, there is a strong bee activity. Spraying with pesticides during the period of flowering but create serious problems because many of them and especially insecticides are toxic. The bee poisoning from pesticides is really a serious problem that negatively impacts both the production of honey and pollination of crops and hence the fructification fruit trees. Improper use of pesticides directly reflects as a huge loss in income of beekeepers, but also indirectly as livestock loss because poisoned bees if they survive, have low productivity. Let us not forget that 80-90% of the production of many fruit trees or plants is due to the contribution of the activity of the bees. Therefore, there is interdependence between the farmers and beekeepers, which proves that they have to live together harmoniously.
4
Based on data announced in Greece, we have a massive increase over a period of 5 years of crops but also of acres, where we apply the neonikotinoeidon.
5
In response to complaints from beekeepers the agriculturists of the Department of Agriculture and Veterinary Grevena, Thessaly and other prefectures in Greece inform growers and draw attention to all users-applied formulations for the control of insects on crops, in order to keep all the prescribed protective measures and implement the instructions listed on approval of pesticides.
6
Additional responsibility have Agriculturists who sell pesticides to thoroughly inform farmers for the protective measures that should be taken in order to avoid any risk of damaging the bees.
7
Greece needs to find ways to combine and balance the contradictory elements in order to gain its comparative advantage in the European Union and around the world. And its comparative advantage is the production of special and high biological value products due to its rich flora and fauna that thrive in the wonderful climate.
8
Greece has a unique biodiversity with special plant and animal forms, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. Nature provides us with valuable goods which allows us even our exit from the crisis. What we have to do is to protect this unique environment.
