22 Today Leadership role : Define your role within the Leadership Network and DLT Revisit your goals from last meeting how do they fit into the role you have been placed in currently) Is what you are currently doing matching the expectations of your role within the group?

23 Goals of the Network/Building Capacity Read through the handout and note any areas of concern, question, comments How can we build a stronger capacity at our buildings/districts?

24 The Work Expectations Everyone should have completed 2 Learning Experiences with student work and rubric Leaders should be working with teachers at the school/district level to understand and create Learning Experiences using the GRC form. Those teachers should be sending the completed LE to you with student work and rubrics – those then are sent to me to upload to the repository. One a month is a goal from all.

26 Five Strategies of Formative Assessment Highlight 2 sentences that resonate or “summarize/seem to synthesize” what you have read Circle a word or phrase that you would like to share with your group Identify a note-taker to take notes of some commonalities of the table group – Without commenting, each member identifies the section read (1-4) and reads ONLY one of his/her sentences (1s go first, then 2s …) (do not repeat a sentence already read) then each reads their word or phrase – ok to repeat here. Note takers from each table shares table group’s commonalities – themes/words

27 Inquiry (Argumentative Process) Wordle What is in common? What is missing? What are we not in agreement? What is there that is suprising?

28 Inquiry Group yourself by : K-5 6-8 HS Introduction: while you read think of the following: – What makes a claim sufficient? – What is quality evidence? – And what makes for a “good” argument?

29 BIRD argumentative activity Groups of 3-4 Read thru the beginning info on BIRDS and complete the graphic organizer 20 minutes to complete

30 BIRD argumentative activity Nominate one person to say at your table spot while the others rotate to hear ideas from the other groups. 3 Minutes per station to hear the claim and reason behind their claim. Look at the possible questions to ask the person persenting.

31 BIRD argumentative activity Go back to your group with others ideas that you have heard and discuss any “new” ideas or concepts that might aid, change or alter your answers. Change any part you wish to change

32 BIRD argumentative activity Look at the rubric and discuss where your group would fall and provide evidence to defend. How could you use this in your classroom and/or assist in the creation of a learning experience

33 LUNCH 12:00-1:00 reflect on AM work – how would the strategies given play a role in GRC and 3 D experiences? Report to the planetarium by 1:00

40 Homework Spread the word of the Kenton and Campbell County Cadre meetings to your teachers Create and complete your 3 rd learning experience: send with student work, rubric, etc. to me by next meeting Instruct and have your other teachers develop, implement. Have them send you their LE(GRC), Rubric and Student work and then forward those to me.
