2 22 Maersk Line, Limited Proprietary The purpose of this presentation is to discuss the overall need to reduce the generation and disposal of waste streams from our operating vessels. We will look at how to achieve those reductions and disposals ashore through operational efficiencies and technology improvements in use now and contemplated for the future. Operational issues include generation, stowage and disposal of all IMO recognized waste streams. The technical enhancements include projects to reduce the amount of waste generated, eliminate any overboard disposal and to optimize disposal practices to shore that validates disposal in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and confirms that disposal with a quantifiable metric and tracking system. Our goal in the business is to meet and exceed existing regulatory requirements and to always operate in the best interests of global waste reduction and disposal, while maintaining an efficient and cost effective service for our customers.
