Home safety refers to the security and the state of peace one gets at home

Hold a knife by its handle. Pay attention when using it. UTS Keep sharp things in a safe place.

Wash the wound with clean water. What to Do if you have a …… Use a tissue to press onto the cut until bleeding stops. Apply plaster onto the cut. UT??

Wipe spills on the floor. Be careful of wires, strings or ropes lying on the ground. You may trip on them. Don’t leave things lying on the floor.

Never play or touch anything you are not sure about. They may make you very sick.

Handle electrical appliances with dry hands. Electricity can be conducted by water. Don’t play with electric sockets and plugs. They may cause shock. Always switch off the electricity before pulling out the plugs of electrical appliances.

Don’t touch hot stoves, kettles or heaters. They can burn you. Don’t play with fire.

What to Do if you have a …… 4Place the burnt area under running tap water. 4Do NOT apply anything (cream, ointment, toothpaste, etc).

WHAT DO YOU DO? Get outside as soon as possible. Don’t stop to take along your things. Don’t try to fight a big fire alone. Call for the fire brigade (995).

If fire or heavy smoke is blocking your door, shut it, and shout for help out of the window. If smoke is making you cough, crawl along the floor. Have a planned meeting place outside for your family. You’ll know very quickly if anybody is missing.
