Introduction about AGCF TISPAN PSTN/ISDN Emulation Subsystem - Functional Architecture
4
Introduction about AGCF AGCF is specific to the PSTN/ISDN emulation subsystem. It’s the first point of contact for residential and access media gateways. AGCF is acting as an MGC for controlling media gateways functions (R-MGF and A-MGF) located in residential and access gateways.
5
Purpose of the proposal AGCF performs signalling interworking between SIP and analog signal via the P1 reference point. When the protocol running on P1 reference point is H.248 , the protocol doesn’t define registration for user. The document is trying to provide a practical method for registration of A-MG. The following will represent a method “domain registration”

Registration process AGCF S-CSCF UPSF A-MG P1 Mw PES APP ISC Cx P1 : H.248 Mw: : SIP
7
Registration process Domain registration: 1) A-MG AGCF: When A-MG start/restart, A-MG sends ServiceChange to AGCF; 2) AGCF S-CSCF: AGCF sends SIP-register to S-CSCF with IP address of A-MG. All the subscribers in A-MG are registered by this operation. 3) S-CSCF UPSF:S-CSCF register the domain of A-MG to UPSF. UPSF will record the related S-CSCF of the A-MG domain.
8
Registration process When storing a new subscriber in HSS, get the related S-CSCF same as the domain’s.
