Introduction You know what global warming is and you know what the consequences are, but what you don’t know what we can do to stop it. There are a ton of ways to reduce the threat of global warming. I will present a few of the many ways to make the world better for our future.

Recycling Recycling can help reduce a lot of carbon dioxide. This is important because carbon dioxide is one of the main causes of global warming. If we recycle half of our household waste, we can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide.

Planting Trees Trees give off oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. In a tree’s lifetime, it will absorb about 1 ton of carbon dioxide. For example: If a group of people planted 100 trees, those 100 trees would absorb about 100 tons of carbon dioxide.

At Home: Using Less Energy Home energy accounts for 21 percent of America's global warming pollution. Turning off electrical items when they’re not used is an example of using less energy. Changing light bulbs is another example.

Using Less Energy While On The Road Transportation is the biggest source of U.S. carbon dioxide emissions, more than factories or homes. Ways to reduce global warming are to use less gas when riding in a car or buy a fuel efficient car like a hybrid.
