7. STAAR Accelerated classes will be assigned to students based on STAAR results. This will result in the loss of elective classes.

9.  I won’t be able to find my classes.  I’ll forget which class to go to next.  I won’t be with my friends.  I won’t be able to get my locker open.

10.  The older kids will pick on me.  I have to change clothes in PE!  What’s the dress code?  What are the school rules?

11.  Have a homework routine.  Have some supplies at home.  Choose a quiet place to do homework and study.  Make a timeline for projects. - “To Do” Lists!!!  Pack up when you are finished.

12.  Once a week clean out that backpack!  Clean out your locker after each 6 weeks.  Check the agenda every night and discuss the day’s work with your parents. (they want to know what your doing).

13.  Wear your IDs at ALL times!!!  Why????  IDs will be color coded to according to grade level, to help with safety and identification.  IDs will be used to check out library books.  IDs are scanned to get your lunch

14.  Each teacher has a website.  Many teachers list their daily assignments and sometimes attach homework assignments.  Go to www.dentonisd.orgwww.dentonisd.org  Choose McMath at the top of the page.  Choose the team and then the teacher.

15. Have McMath Pride! Try out for the school plays Try out for competitions (choir, theater, art, band and orchestra Look for flyers for clubs that you can join! Get Involved with your school!!!
