A Different Approach What motivates people to modify their self-interest to work collectively toward common goals? Leadership is a process not a function of someone being in charge or in control Leadership is a function of individual wills, needs, and values and the result of the dynamics of collective will organized to meet those various needs and values If there is no need for change there is no need for leadership

So how is this different? Leadership is not about authority or structure. Leadership is not about managing the context or situation or even people as an obstacle to be overcome. Leadership is a process of unfolding change where the values of the individuals are integrated into the mores of the community
