Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

3. Joshua Prosperous – Heb: tsalach - to push forward, in various senses
Success – Heb: sakal - circumspect and hence intelligent
Think carefully about risk before doing or saying something

4. Success comes when you meditate on the Word of God until it becomes
a part of who you are.

5. Isaac’s Servant
Gen 24:12 Then he prayed, "O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
14 May it be that when I say to a girl, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too'--let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master."

6. Success comes when you commit significant decisions to the
sovereignty of God

7. Jehoash, King of Israel Jehoash 2 Kings 13:14-19
2 Kings:13:18 Then he said, "Take the arrows," and the king took them. Elisha told him, "Strike the ground." He struck it three times and stopped.
19 The man of God was angry with him and said, "You should have struck the ground five or six times; then you would have defeated Aram and completely destroyed it. But now you will defeat it only three times.“

8. Today’s passionate obedience brings tomorrow’s success in victory!

9. Gideon
Judges 6:25 That same night the LORD said to him, "Take the second bull from your father's herd, the one seven years old. Tear down your father's altar to Baal and cut down the Asherah pole beside it.
26 Then build a proper kind of altar to the LORD your God on the top of this height. Using the wood of the Asherah pole that you cut down, offer the second bull as a burnt offering."

10. Success comes when you remove every idol that would compete with
a jealous God, and
build an authentic altar of worship.

11. “The Man”
Ezekiel 47:3 As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.
4 He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist.
5 He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in--a river that no one could cross.

12. “The Man” River of His Spirit Two applications:
Hesitancy to go deeper in the river
Boldness to go deeper than your character or maturity can sustain
Application of leadership
Success is found where God invites you to be in the river

13. Success comes when you step into God’s placement for you in the river.
