There were two different alliances during World War I (or also known as the Great War) Triple Alliance Triple Entente

The triple Entente included: France Russia Great Britain It was originally called the Dual Entente in 1884, with only France and Russia but in 1907, Great Britain came in and thus was born the Triple entente Triple alliance Germany Italy Austria- Hungary

Colonies often helped their country, creating a lot of advantages For instance, Great Britain, that had a lot of big colonies
