Square root - a number that produces a specified quantity when multiplied by itself. The square root of 25 is 5, since 5 x 5 = 25. Perfect square or Square number – A number that is the square of an integer. 9 is a perfect square because 9 = 32 Radical expression – An expression involving a radical sign. Copy Into Notes

Finding Square Roots Square Root – A number which, when multiplied by itself, results in another number. 52 = 25 So, the square root of 25 is 5. We write it:

Perfect Squares Perfect square – A number that is a square of a whole number. Can be represented by arranging objects in a square. You need to memorize the first 15 perfect squares.
