Find a Job Student said it was not difficult to find how to apply for a job. Tag Cloud / RSS Icon is confusing Actual application is easy to use. Student actually applied for job – let’s see if HR can figure out who.

Who’s in Jail Student said it was fairly easy to find on the County website. Hard to find link, but once they visited the site, it was easy to remember where it was located. Did not notice the link in the tag cloud

What information is available on parks website? Student said that more information should be made available, such as Parks outside of Catawba County lines, Newton City parks for example (Southside, JC park). It could be confusing to a citizen that just moved here, they may be under the impression that Riverbend and Bakers Mountain are the only two parks. Did not see any events listed at the parks. Only 2 parks listed on our site. Would be nice to have links to other parks in Catawba County even though they are not Catawba County parks (i.e. city parks) http://www.catawbacountync.gov/depts/parks/

Look at the Kid’s Pages “Really Cool” Good colors and layout Would like to see some sort of game on the site…”That would top it off”

Look up a Septic Permit and information on Tattoos: Student found the permit, fairly easy but did not like the page layout. He had a very hard time finding information Did not like the design / layout of the page once visited the site. Tattoo information was difficult to find. Overall website design - “Not appealing / easy to use”, “almost impossible to use”, Needs better search engine to find items.

Find information on Flu Shots and Teen Health The Flu shot information was easy to find once you got to PH website. Should have a “Do you have a Health Concern” link on the PH Home Page Need more Photos “Fairly easy to use” Info not beneficial only because the user did not feel they would use this service. Totally Teens site looks better because of the colors and layout. Would like to see something like ASK.COM for usability. “It’s quick and easy” Totally Teens site “touches on actual issues that teens may have” Would like to see the “Ask Us a Health Question” in a highly visible area on the page and “In your face”. More photos would be nice “People like photos” Flu shot information was easy to find and had a lot of useful information. (????????????) http://www.catawbacountync.gov/phealth/ http://www.ask.com/

Find the Top Tax Payer in Catawba County and Your Neighbor’s Tax Bill Find information about your elderly grandfather about tax exemptions Very easy to navigate through the tax look up “Pretty easy to find” GIS was easy to use to find out neighbor’s tax bill. Easy to find information about exemptions.

Adoptable Animals Very easy to find, used the tag cloud. “Really Easy” “Never expected to see something like this on the County Site” “Good Layout … Clean and easy to read” Student found pet he wants to adopt.

When times are tough! Look for programs/contracts that are rarely used. Look for excess licenses. Look for collaboration opportunities and combining services. Look for “Do I really need that?” items. Ask how many things on your computer you really use? Look for opportunities to change the way you do business. Think before you print and save. Turn off the computer, monitor and peripherals.
