3. Descriptive Programming(DP): ♦ Entering Objects Information (Property  Value pair) directly into the test script is called descriptive programming. So QTP won’t use object information from OR file. ♦ Object Spy is used to get the properties and their values to uniquely identify the objects in the application. Job Oriented QTP/UFT Training

4. Two ways of descriptive programming: 1. Static Programming We use Property  Value pair that describe the object directly in a VBScript statement 2. Dynamic Programming We use Description object. We add a collection of properties and values to a Description object, and then use Description object name in the script. Job Oriented QTP/UFT Training

5. Where to use Descriptive Programming? Test Scenario #1: Application having similar type of objects appears on the page at multiple places. Redundant objects in Object Repository. Test Scenario #2: Application still under development, proceed with automation scripting. There is no Object Repository. Test Scenario #3: Run time objects in the application Difficult to handle Dynamic Objects in OR because of hard coded properties.
