On-Board Diagnostic do not replace manual inspections of the Cylinder Condition, but it use the data collected and help predicting when overhaul is needed.

OBD used drain oil analysis data:
Drain oil analysis is like evaluating blood samples from Human Beings.
Drain oil samples on-board normally gives information regarding Iron and BN, thus enabling the crew to operate within our recommendations in SL
When oil samples are sent ashore for lab testing, a more detailed report is generated.
