Watch Out! Gas stations may be closed during emergencies and unable to pump gas during power outages. power outage = no electricity

What happens if the electricity is off for a few days? 2. Keep some cash at home. Place some small bills in a safe place at home. No ATMs

What do you need to wear if you have to be outside for a few days? Wear a long sleeved shirt, and sturdy shoes, and long pants, and a hat. 3. Wear clothing that provides some protection.

What do you need in your car if you have to leave home for a few days? First aid kit Water Blanket Flashlight Batteries for the flashlight 4. Keep some supplies in your car.

How will you leave your city if there is an earthquake? One car for one family If you do not have a car, call the city hall and take the emergency bus. 5. Take only one car per family.

Make a list of supplies in groups and then discuss as a class. Power outage Earthquake What supplies do you need at home if the lights go out? What supplies do you need at home if there is an earthquake?

6. Get prepared! Talk with your family. Decide what you will do when… there is an earthquake in your city. there is a power outage in your city. there is a flood near your house.
