RENEWABLE ENERGY - QUARTERLY REPORT At the end of our Second Seminar in May of 2008, we were challenged to discover ways to create partnering, communications and networks which facilitate Alternative Energy understanding and utilization in the Texas Panhandle. What has transpired to date?

IDENTIFY OBJECTIVES Become more Renewable Energy aware Be proactive in seeking RE applications for your firm, business or institution Develop contacts to include others with similar RE interests and priorities Expand invitations to include increased business and industry representation Establish collaborations and partnerships Select a First Effort activity or Task to incorporate RE concepts into daily application

Celebrate the Good Works ! What are the recent, positive outcomes relating to Alternative/Renewable Energy in the region, state and nation? Have our early Objectives and Goals begun to bear fruit – What Good Things Have Occurred? What is NEXT?

Timely Events – Since Seminar II ERCOT CREZ Hearings and GRID Authorization. The “PICKENS PLAN” disclosure. AMARILLO COLLEGE AE Degree and Certificate programs. Amarillo EDC $440,000 Grant in support of AC. TTU Wind Science and Engineering Research Center – Texas Wind Energy Institute is created to meet training needs for a new industry WTAMU Nance Ranch WIND FARM.

Texas Tech Receives $1 Million from Texas Workforce Commission to Develop Wind Energy Program The Texas Wind Energy Institute is a partnership between Texas Tech and Texas State Technical College in collaboration with American Wind Energy Association, Lone Star Wind Alliance, Utility Wind Interest Group, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and other energy-related organizations. Identify projects suitable for initiation and commitment Secure linkages and collaborative partnering Set measurable goals and work product Commit to reasonable timetables Secure additional resources for support Agree on a To Do List with clear expectations and accountability Grant ourselves permission to achieve these dreams
