3 Getting from here to there This program is like a subway. The destination is college and career. However, just like on a subway, people get on at different places, sometimes get off and on along the way, and maybe have different destinations... Where are you headed? 6 Three Steps for Finding Main Idea 1. Read the paragraph, article, or chart 2. Consider the details mentioned 3. Ask what theme, idea, or topic the details have in common….this will be the main idea of your reading. Let’s practice……
