What Is a Double- Negative? A double-negative occurs when you put two negative words together in the same sentence. –Examples: I am not going to pay no bills. She can’t make friends with nobody.

What Are the Rules for Double-Negatives? There is only one rule… 1.Do not use two or more negative words in the same sentence. –Two negatives contradict each other and make a positive, totally changing the meaning of your sentence..
