Gilchriese 2 Sector Summary 9005 – FE-I2 modules –Used for qualification and extensively tested (system test) 9000 – FE-I3 bad modules –Used for final tune-up of assembly process –Assembly completed. Survey completed - OK –Preliminary( room T) electrical test done - OK –Thermal imaging, thermal cycling and burn-in to be done –Back in system test for now 9006 – 1 st production unit –Assembly and survey completed on September 24. OK. Thermal OK. –All testing complete. OK. 9007 –Assembly and survey completed September 30. OK. Thermal OK. –Need to redo digital test cold with improved grounding, otherwise done. 9008 –Six modules loaded. Survey OK. Testing to start next week 9009 –Assembly and survey completed on October 19. OK –Not yet tested. 9010 –Four modules loaded, OK so far

3. M. Gilchriese 3 Status Qualification of second assembly station nearly complete. Survey comparisons with other station done, agreement within few microns. Expect to start using second station next week for 9011. Slowly ramp up assembly rate. Limited by manpower and soon module delivery rate. Can add manpower if module rate improves. Testing fully operational but keep making small improvements. XTALK cut in discussion with Module Analysis czar Will shortly start planning to replicate test system to allow faster rate Expect to have at least one disk worth, eight sectors, assembled before Xmas break.
