CTE- College and Career Academies Hands on learning and training in various industries. Lottery- All students can apply. Maximum number to apply- 5 schools Selective- Only students who have not repeated 8 th or skipped grades 6 th to 8 th Hancock and Jones- must have greater than 24 th percentile, students with IEPs combined score equal or greater than 48 th percentile.

Magnet Specialty programs in the areas of fine and performing arts, engineering and agricultural sciences. Pre-qualify with NWEA scores: - 24 th percentile or higher - Diverse Learners- IEP or ELL combined Math and Reading with 48 th percentile or higher Maximum number to apply- 8 schools Tier system (www.cpsoae.org) – “NEWS”www.cpsoae.org Lottery Schools with additional criteria- Senn Fine Arts program- Admissions screening (www.sennarats.org) Von Steuben- Scholars Program (www.vonstueben.org)

Military Rigorous college preparatory curriculum, emphasis on leadership, teamwork and service. Different branch of the military. Prequalify with NWEA scores- combined scores Reading and Math of 48 th percentile or greater. Attend ONE information session Maximum- 4 schools Points System- totaling 500 points Two part assessment(50 ts. each part), essay (100 pts.), 7th grade NWEA scores(150 pts) and grades (150 pts.)

IB- International Bacculaureate Comprehensive and challenging pre- university recognized for high academic standards Culturally competent leaders Pre-qualify with NWEA scores and 7 th grade GPA 24 th percentile or higher in Reading and Math Minimum 2.5 GPA Diverse Learners- combined reading and math totaling 48 th percentile or greater. Maximum- 6 schools Information Session 50 additional points towards admissions criteria

Selective Enrollment Rigorous curriculum- mainly honors and advanced placement (AP) courses. Testing - Pre-qualify with NWEA test scores, - 24 th percentile or higher -Diverse Learners- IEP or ELL combined Math and Reading with 48 th percentile or higher Points = 900 total 7 th grade NWEA Scores and GPA, SE test results Maximum- 6 schools (Ranking is important) Tier system (www.cpsoae.org – “NEWS”www.cpsoae.org Principal Discretion- www.cpsoae.org

Charter/Contract Schools Schools with a CPS affiliation Partial or significant funding source (tax dollars) May adhere to CPS student policies May create policies independent from CPS May have requirements around attendance, and behavior May have additional costs/fees to supplement the learning May require a uniform ChiArts.org (Contract) Noble and CICS (Charter) Apply directly Different deadlines and requirements Contact them early

CPS Neighborhood Schools William Howard TAFT HS No application required Neighborhood program- Wall to Wall IB Programs within- IB Diploma program, AP courses, CPD Police and Fire Department Apprenticeships, TAFT AVID, Naval JROTC, CTE- Digital Media, Entrepreneurship, IT Applications, and Education focus. Applying for CPS New this year!!! Online system will be accessible after the 12.11.15 close date. The CPS HS guide is only available online. October 1 st application process opened Electronic or Paper Online use requires a Pin# Schedule tests and interviews December 11 th application process ends Offer letters mailed in February 2016 Accept an offer before March 2016
