Email Capability - First Component: Ability for an instructor to email the author when the instructor is reading his/her posting There are 2 places on the UI where ‘email functionality’ can be accessed: top-level thread page individual message page

What Does Clicking Email Do? Launch new message window from recipient’s default OS email client

New Message Email Popup Author’s name and email pre-populated Keyboard focus. Pre-populate Subject with - ‘Feedback on ‘’Message’s Title’’ Author’s name and email pre-populated Keyboard focus. Pre-populate Subject with ‘Feedback on ‘’Message’s Title’’.

Who Can Send Email? Anyone with ‘section.role.ta’ OR ‘site.upd’ permission under !site.template.course

‘Watch Forums Options’ Page Clicking on ‘Save’ or ‘Cancel’’ takes user back to Forums main page. Option is pre-selected by default when someone clicks on ‘’Watch’ for first time. This is the default notification level even if someone never clicks on ‘’Watch’.

Forums Main Page If user is Web authenticated, then take him to Forums main page (as a new page).

WebLogin Page If user is not Web authenticated, then take him to Web Login screen first, which would then direct him to Forums main page (as a new page).
