Final Thoughts Could there be changes to the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem? A different shark assemblage: Opportunistic predation? More large red snapper: 2010 fishery closure? Fewer small red snapper: Year class failure? Increased cannibalism? Incidence of diseased fish appears normal.
