1 Photo Writing An Invitation to Write

2 Photo Writing is… A break from the normal, structured essay A way for us to be creative even if we don’t consider ourselves “creative writers.” An activity that allows us to interpret photos. An escape from our world for a little while. An activity that allows us to share/collaborate with others. While I ask for volunteers, I hope more and more will share as the year goes on. I will ask you to turn these in from time to time and they are up for grabs on any notebook check.

3 What to Do Simply put, this is writing that is created out of a photo that you have viewed/interpreted. Photos help to represent a story. What can you create from the photo? What thoughts, people, places come to mind? What is the story? You can write a poem, a song, a rap, a short story, an explanation/interpretation of what you think is taking place or took place right before, who the person(s) are and what’s going on in his/her life. The sky’s the limit here, but it must be something you create out of the photo; hence, photo writing Write a minimum of ONE FULL PAGE.

Each journal is worth 15 points If the journal entry # and date are missing, I will not grade this. 3 points for the title 12 points for the body

There are one word answers. 1 The journal entry lacks honesty, hard to read, and is rambling. The questions are not re-written and the answers are hard to follow. 1 The journal entry is difficult to read due to too many errors in grammar.
