1. Photo Writing An Invitation to Write

2. Photo Writing is… A break from the normal, structured essay A way for us to be creative even if we don’t consider ourselves “creative writers.” An activity that allows us to interpret photos. An escape from our world for a little while. An activity that allows us to share/collaborate with others. While I ask for volunteers, I hope more and more will share as the year goes on. I will ask you to turn these in from time to time and they are up for grabs on any notebook check.

3. What to Do Simply put, this is writing that is created out of a photo that you have viewed/interpreted. Photos help to represent a story. What can you create from the photo? What thoughts, people, places come to mind? What is the story? You can write a poem, a song, a rap, a short story, an explanation/interpretation of what you think is taking place or took place right before, who the person(s) are and what’s going on in his/her life. The sky’s the limit here, but it must be something you create out of the photo; hence, photo writing Write a minimum of ONE FULL PAGE.
