2 Warm Up: Cause and effect: What were the reasons that people used as justification for the crucifixaion of Jesus?

3 Homework Use the map on page 173 and complete the 2 geography skills questions.

4 Holy text The Bible is the holy text of Christianity The bible derives from the torah and has many overlapping parts. Bibles also have additional “books” with teachings of Jesus and his apostles. ◦There are different versions of the Bible  Ie. King James The Bible has 51 books

5 Religious leadership The leadership in Christianity varies depending on the sect, but most Christians believe the pope is the leader of the churches world wide with the priest as the leader of their church. Sect: a religious group that is a smaller part of a larger group and whose members all share similar beliefs (example: Lutheran from Christianity)

6 House of Worship Christians worship in a church. Churches vary in looks and size.

8 Work Time: Using your notes and provided source documents complete the venn diagram hemispheres that are labeled Christianity and Judaism as well as the hemisphere they share.
