2. JESUS’ TRIAL Jesus’ trial was actually a series of hearings, carefully controlled to lead to the death of Jesus. The verdict was pre- decided, but certain ‘legal’ procedures had to be carried out. A lot of effort went into condemning and crucifying an innocent man, and Jesus went through an unfair trial which finally led to his crucifixion
