Employers want……. People who will be an asset to the firm or organization. Your interest and skills to be a credit to the organization. Awareness that at all times, you are a representative of the organization. Loyalty to the organization, its purpose, objectives and or products. Loyalty of the organization, its purpose objectives and or products. Dependability: Willingness to produce »Being at work regularly on time »Completing tasks »Abiding by company policies » Meeting work deadlines and schedules » Punctuality is the bottom line.

More…… People who require a minimum amount of supervision Initiative and tact, show enthusiasm in getting things started or completed without taking over some other person’s job. Ability to get along with co- workers; able to maintain the team spirit that is called for in all organizations, the willingness to co-operate for the good of the team and the organization. The expression of individuality without being self-centered or for selfish reasons at the expense of others or the organization. Assertiveness: not being overly bold, arrogant and overly ambitious, don’t try to show up weakness in your superiors or co- workers, weaknesses have a way of surfacing by themselves. Diplomacy is the name of the game, the person you put down today may be your boss tomorrow. Appropriate style of of dress and mannerisms.

Your Skills…. What are you able to do? What are the things that you can do that you would really like to do? What skills can you take with you wherever you go? What skills do you most want to use in your work?

Your style….. How do you relate to the world? How do you like to work? What kind of environment do you prefer? How do you c ommunicate? How do you manage and lead others? What are the appropriate, contributions for you to make to an organization? How do you relate to people, and what kinds of bosses and colleagues and subordinates do you work best around?

Your Internal barriers and developmental needs………. What is it that blocks you from getting what you want out of your worklife? What attitudes, opinions, beliefs, or behaviour patterns keep you from experiencing success and satisfaction or from performing as effectively as you need to or want to? What would you like to be able to do better or differently so as to make full use of your potential
