Europa could possibly support life. Europa has enough oxygen for life. Too cold but it could have hot underwater springs that could warm it up. The oceans could sustain macrofauna.
3
Why Europa could not support life? A thick layer of ice covers the surface. The ice is studied to be three to four kilometers thick, and keeps most of the sunlight out. Plants can not live with the little amount of sunlight. It might be too cold for life.
4
Chemicals needed to support life. Carbon Hydrogen Oxygen Nitrogen Sulfur Phosphorus Because these are needed to form DNA.
5
What questions we still have? What is macrofauna? Does Europa have the chemicals to sustain life? Does anyone have any questions? Please write them down on a piece of paper and hand to Mr. Payne.
