BRAND NAMES How many of the following do you recognise? As you identify the company associated with each brand name, consider what makes it so effective. Use these ideas to help you design your own brand name for the “Apprentice” roleplay!

Brand Names Named after the largest river The company owner’s favourite fruit It means “Listen!” in Latin Named after the leaf and the bean that make up its main ingredients Misspelling – 1 followed by 100 zeros Named this way because the company owner’s favourite letter was ‘K’ Adolf Dassler’s sports shops The Goddess of Victory in Classical Greece The Associated Dairies company Pen company named after its founder. It means “Sound” in Latin A discount store named partly after it’s German founder, Albrecht Uses the letters of the Scandinavian owner’s name, followed by the letters of the town he comes from (four letters in total)
