6 ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Hybrid cars emit less emissions then the comparable gasoline car. According to Hybrid-car.org, the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius both emit 3.5 tons of carbon a year. Also, Hybrid-car.org explains that a typical gasoline car emits on average, 6.7 tons of carbon per year. This figure can range based on the vehicle. For example, a full size pick-up truck could emit close to 10 tons of carbon. Hybrid cars still emit carbon but at a lesser rate than regular gasoline cars. (Hybrid Car Organization, 2005)
