3. CHILDREN OF GOD

4. God is willing to adopt you and me to make us His children. Spiritual adoption is through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:3-5). ◦ You MUST be IN CHRIST. ◦ John 14:6; 2 John 9; Romans 6:4-6; Galatians 3:27 In Christ an attitude of adoption motivates God’s children to petition and to serve Him (Romans 8: 15-17).

5. Children of God choose to be like children (Matthew 18:1-4). Disciples’ minds and hearts were occupied with greatness. ◦ Carnal thinking… Be converted and become like children! ◦ Change… ◦ Child-like humility, child-like dependence, child-like trust, child-like longing

6. Children of God must learn not to behave immaturely. Do not be childish in your understanding about evil (1 Cor. 14:20). Do not be children who are easily swayed by falsehood (Eph. 4:14-15). Do not remain infants regarding the word of righteousness (Heb. 5:12-14).
