4 Landscape Features Users create individual “sites” for each orchard. Users save data for individual blocks in the selected orchard. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
5
5 Field Mapping Users map their block using Google Earth. PRiME then automatically retrieves site-specific soils data from NRCS. In addition to mapping cropping areas, users map sensitive areas, mitigation zones and/or areas at high risk for runoff. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
6
Pesticide Application Users use multiple search options to select a formulated product, for e.g., Lorsban 50W. Users enter pertinent use pattern information for selected product. IPM Institute of North America, Inc. 6
7
7 Pesticide Management Scenarios Users create and select a pesticide management scenario for evaluation. Users enter amount of product applied, acres treated and restricted entry interval for selected product, Lorsban 50W. Users calculate risk for selected product. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
8
8 Risk Summary for Lorsban 50W (Green= Low risk Yellow= Moderate risk Red= High risk) IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
9
9 Users can select the product, Lorsban 50W and change the application rate to compare the risk of Lorsban 50W at different application rates. Risk Summary for Lorsban 50W applied at 4 lbs. per acre and 2 lbs. per acre. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
10
10 Risk summary for Dithane DF, Kocide 2000 and Lorsban 75WG. *: Insufficient data for risk calculation. *FEH: Presumed low exposure and low hazard (Green= Low risk Yellow= Moderate risk Red= High risk) IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
11
Summary Output and Mitigation 11 PRiME will provide users with a risk summary of the number of indices in the low, moderate and high risk categories for each product. Users may also be alerted to indices demonstrating moderate and high risk ratings and pathways of exposure for each product. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
12
When risk is moderate to high, PRiME will suggest mitigation measures including IPM practices and links to technical resources. PRiME can then recalculate risk comparing the effects of hypothetical mitigation. IPM Institute of North America, Inc. 12
13
Program Evaluation 13 PRiME will display a summary showing the total number of applications falling into each risk category in a given year, allowing program managers to report progress or compare program participants. IPM Institute of North America, Inc.
