2 The main idea of the unit  How much things value.  Why people keep old things  Some people like to own valuable things such as : vases, silverware, gold ….. such as : vases, silverware, gold …..  Some people enjoy collecting stamps, coins, art, furniture, jewelry, toys and dolls.

3 Vocabulary  Educational ( adjective )  Condition ( noun )  Secret ( noun / adjective )  Expert ( noun )  Worth ( noun )  Rare ( adjective )  Sentimental value ( adjective + noun )  Valuable ( adjective ) = worthy  Items ( noun )

5 Adjectives  An adjective describes a noun. It gives more information about it. ( happy – sad – nice – valuable – afraid…) ( happy – sad – nice – valuable – afraid…) An adjective can end in : ( -al, -able, -ible ……) Educational – portable / valuable – possible

6 The Simple Present  We use the present simple to refer to facts or habits. She always goes to school on foot. (Habit) She always goes to school on foot. (Habit) The Earth is a planet. 7 The Simple Present  If the subject is ( I / they / we or you ) we don’t add anything to the verb. we don’t add anything to the verb. They go to their village every summer. 8 The Simple Present Negative form:  We use doesn’t / don’t + the infinitive to form a negative sentence in the simple present. She has a new house. ( Use not ) She has a new house. 11 What is a paragraph?  A paragraph is a group of sentences that develops one main idea.  The first sentence is the topic sentence. It has the main idea.  The other sentences are supporting sentences. They make the main idea clearer.  The last sentence is the concluding sentence. It sums up the main idea.

12 Rules for writing a paragraph:  Indent the first line My favourite hobby is reading.It is an interesting hobby. It provides me with a lot of information. I can spend nice hours reading a book about a famous character in the Arab history. I don’t feel bored when I have a book in my hand. This is way I think that reading is a very interesting hobby. 13 Rules for writing a paragraph  1- Indent the first line.  2- There are two margins on your paper.
