17. When the environment feels competitive, we often will automatically play WIN-LOSE. (And we just finished talking about WIN-WIN ). Because many of us over the years have been taught WIN- LOSE, it is easy to fall back into a learned behavior when the situation feels competitive. Remember our SEE-DO-GET model? Our PARADIGMS govern our behavior.

We need to approach WIN-WIN from a genuine desire to invest in the relationships that make it possible. Competition is healthy… especially when you compete against yourself, or when it challenges you to reach and stretch and become your best. Does your perspective change when you are on a team?
