Historical summary of Vocational Education Training Center (VETC) establishment In 2006, Bor Undur Area Development Programme, World Vision Germany agreed to initiate to establish VETC in the province. In February 2007, local Citizens Representative Meeting ratified a resolution to establish VTPC. In March 2007, a work team to develop a project to establish VETC. In July 2007, the project to establish VETC was supported by World Vision Germany. 2

Main events In 2007, VETC started its activities with 12 teachers and 98 students for 4 professions. In 2008, a new training facility for 250 students, dormitory for 120 students and apartments for 15 families got into operation. In 2009, training technique and equipment for 6 laboratories, practical workshop were provided and installed. 3

Contributions in establishment of VETC Local Governments –11015 м 2 land was licensed to the VET Center –1300 м 2 square, 1 storey old training building was presented –Two 5-storey old apartments for housing of teachers and students World Vision Germany –Finance of new practice building, teachers’ apartments and students dormitory –6 Laboratories and workshops of the VET Center Central Governments Activity expenses, including students’ allowances, teachers’ wages, building heating and electricity costs etc, by the state budget 5

Auto repair class students did their own car in history of Mongolian VETC. They used cab of England made MG car and assembled Korean made Hyundai car engine. Its carrying capacity is 500 kgs.

Construction class students under supervision of teacher Purevjargal made capital repair in agro-park’s old building and furnished it as a training cabinet.

With purpose to reduce poverty and increase livelihood, the VTPC contacted with Strict Regime Prison in Choir and organized competency based short training on construction and welding professions among prisoners whose sentence period is coming to end. Thanks to VTPC training the prisoners would find their foot in life as they have professional certificates. Enhancing social benefits by the organization

Intensive Technical English Language with MMCA and Otgontenger University. The training covered 32 teachers of 4 colleges and 5 VTPCenters dureing summer vacation at Govisumber VTPCenter. 31
