2 STATIC AND DYNAMIC MODELLING There are two kinds of object models produced during object design:  Static models Models which are useful for defining packages, classes, attributes and method signatures.  Dynamic models Models which are useful for designing the behaviour of classes (the logic in the method bodies). Dynamic models are more important and interesting but they can be difficult to create. Clearly, these two models are related to each other.

4 OBJECT DESIGN SKILL VS UML NOTATION SKILL It is important to stress the following: It is important to know how to THINK and DESIGN IN OBJECTS, and apply object design best- practice patterns. It is a more important and valuable skill than knowing how to draw UML diagrams.
