T HE HARDSHIPS I HAVE FACED Plans changed (project aborted, research visit) A bit of cultural shock at first A bit of stress and demotivation

T HINGS TO KEEP IN MIND Plan it well … plans are always changing Travel and make it international Get involved in your research group and meet other PhDs Don’t spend your life at the office (relax) Don’t be afraid of cultural shock
