1. A greater understanding of God 2. A greater understanding of Ourselves 3. A greater understanding of Life
7
Psalm 1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
8
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
9
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
10
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
11
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
13
Proverbs 3:34-35 God mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble. 35 The wise inherit honor, but fools he holds up to shame.
14
Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
15
Your mind learns by imitation and repetition
16
What you see and hear, you imitate
17
What you imitate you become
18
What you become determines your life
19
Be very careful watching, listening, imitating and repeating things you do not want to become !
20
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD…
21
Psalm 19:7-14 7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
22
8 The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight to life.
23
11 They are a warning to those who hear them; there is great reward for those who obey them.
24
12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. 13 Keep me from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.
25
14 May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
26
2 …and on his law he meditates day and night.
27
Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.
28
James 1:22-25 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
29
23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
30
25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it — he will be blessed in what he does.
31
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1
34
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. One is stable, one is unstable Psalm 1
35
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. One is welcome, one is not Psalm 1
36
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. One is watched, one is overlooked Psalm 1
