2. WHAT IS A SCIENCE FICTION FILM Most science fiction films have a template that gives them the label of calling them science fiction films Taken place in present or future time Impossible quest Improbable setting Distant planet Inexplicable forces Portray sinister or dangerous situations

3. CAMERA ANGLES Low Angle shots- Make enemies/antagonist in the film appear larger than usual Matte Shot- parts of the background and sometimes the foreground are masked so that a different background Money Shot- The most expensive shot also the most expensive shot in the movie, deemed the best shot in the film. POV shot- a camera angle that depicts the point of view of either the enemy or the hero’s eyes. Medium Shot- a camera angle that shows less than a close up shot and shows mostly from the waist to the top of the characters head.

5. LIGHTING SCENES Blue Lighting Effect- A blue light is added to the film to create a mood mostly used in science fiction films. Spotlight Effect- a direct spotlight to show emphasis of the hero or the location in the film. Darker or Brighter lighting to show when a villain or hero is on set.

7. TECH NOIR A type of Film noir used in almost all sci-fi films, is a combination of combining film noir and science fiction. Tec noir is used in films like The Matrix, Terminator, and face off. https://youtu.be/LTs8YnKfSsU

8. SOUNDS & MUSIC Sounds in science fiction films were either composed or either a soundtrack of some sort. For instance star wars composed their own music in their film, but used other instruments to create their sounds effects in the movie. Most of the films used diegetic sound.
