Friendships O Children begin to have different values in friendships O Loyalty O Trust O Mostly friends of the same sex O Become interested in relationships with the opposite sex

Peer Pressure O Becomes very prominent O Children want to be accepted O Can be good or bad O Conformity- being like one another O Help children to understand what peer pressure is O Peer pressure becomes challenge for moral development in children

Family Relationships O Become more independent from family O Start relying less on parents O Get along with siblings far away in age O Age 7- are more dependent on parents but challenge authority O Age 8- cling to their parents O Age 9- ignore adults and become self-involved O Age 10 to 12- children are cooperative but more independent

Moral Development O Parents should set a good example O Learn the difference between right and wrong O Support their child and talk about situations that could occur
