Warm up Multiply or divide the given fraction make sure to reduce 1) 4 x 5 5 7 2) 3 ÷ 4 45 3) Paraphrase the rules for Addition, Subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions.
2
The two most common used linear functions 1) Standard Form- Ax + By = C A, B, and C must be Integers. Also, the variables x and y Examples - 4x + 3y = 5x – y = 0 -3x + y = -4y = 3
3
The other one 2) Slope-intercept form: y = mx + b m = slope b = y – intercept x and y are the variables that will remain constant. m and b can be any type of number, fraction, decimal, integer. One rule that must be followed is that y must be isolated Examples y = 3x + 2y = (1/2)x – 4 y = -7x
4
Lets try some together Identify the following equations as Standard form (SF), Slope – intercept form (SI), or Neither (N) 1.4x + 3y = 8 2.9x – 4 = 5 3.Y = 4x + 2 4.Y = 2x 5.X = 8

Daily Activities Worksheet on Standard form and Slope – intercept for of a line # 1 – 20 Pop Quiz tomorrow graphing points and fractions. Final product: We will be keeping a journal of the topics we cover in the four weeks.
