Individual Study Individually, work through the vocab list. If you get stuck, ask a table mate by either pointing to the ASL sign you need or fingerspelling it, if no one at your table knows, ask the teacher! This is preparation for telephone!
13
Telephone All students will face the board except the last student in the line which will face the teacher in the back of the lines If you talk, your whole team will be disqualified for that round! As you receive your sentence, tap the next person on the shoulder, they will turn, read the sentence, and the process will carry on until the person closest to the board write the correct answer on the board!
14
Practice! Using your vocab list (3a) from yesterday, work through it practicing the signs If there is a sign you can’t remember, circle it with a pen or high light it See how many you can remember without any help from anyone! We will go over these as a class after everyone is finished with this process
15
Practice Sentences Write 8 questions using the current (3a) vocabulary list Write them in ASL on a piece of paper you will turn in You will sign these questions in ASL! Do not show others the sentences!
16
Partner Practice There are no one word answers in ASL. Regardless if your asking a question or signing a sentence, you should expand on your answer. Person A: CHOCOLATE ME LIKE! Person B: SAME, CHOCOLATE ME LIKE or ME DISLIKE DARK CHOCOLATE, MILK CHOCOLATE ME LIKE This is beneficial for practicing ASL for fluency but also to show the signer that you accurately understand. If you don’t understand, sign “AGAIN”
17
Remember After the quiz tomorrow we can turn our voices on again. In the meantime, do NOT ruin this PLEASE When we go out to the commons to sign our sentences that does NOT mean it’s time to talk. Thank you
18
Eggspert I will show you a word on my laptop or fingerspell it
The instant you know what it is, press your button Be careful – I may play tricky… only push your button if you have seen the whole sign!
